# Storm reports in a roofing CRM: five branded PDFs per lead

> A roofing CRM can attach a RoofQuery storm report to every lead for $3, free when no storm was recorded within 5 miles, and get five PDFs branded with the contractor's logo. The Homeowner Storm Summary is the one-page leave-behind; Hail Verification and Wind Verification back up an insurance conversation; Date of Loss documents the storm the homeowner remembers; Weather History covers five years in full. The PDF links need no API key, so they drop straight into a lead, an email or a text.

The storm report PDF is what a roofer hands a homeowner: a branded page that shows, in plain English, that hail hit their street, how big it was and when. A roofing CRM can attach one to every lead with a single API call, and each report comes with five PDFs for different conversations, all carrying the contractor's own logo.

## Which PDFs does every storm report include?

Five, for $3 in total, each one branded and each one a link the CRM can store on the lead. Open the samples to see exactly what a homeowner or adjuster receives.

| PDF | Pages | When the rep uses it | Sample |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Homeowner Storm Summary** | 1 | The leave-behind and the follow-up email: the hail map, the strongest storms near the home and a low, medium or high chance of roof damage | [Open](https://api.roofquery.com/sample-storm-report/homeowner.pdf) |
| **Hail Verification** | 1 | The insurance conversation: hail at the property and within 1, 3 and 5 miles for every hail date, in the table adjusters expect | [Open](https://api.roofquery.com/sample-storm-report/hail-verification.pdf) |
| **Wind Verification** | 1 | Wind and tornado jobs: the strongest wind within 1, 3 and 5 miles, damage reports, station gusts and warnings | [Open](https://api.roofquery.com/sample-storm-report/wind-verification.pdf) |
| **Date of Loss** | 2 to 3 | When the homeowner remembers "the storm in May": what was recorded on that day, by distance, with the map | [Open](https://api.roofquery.com/sample-storm-report/date-of-loss.pdf) |
| **Weather History** | 4 to 7 | The full record for a property manager, a public adjuster or a homeowner who wants everything | [Open](https://api.roofquery.com/sample-storm-report/weather-history.pdf) |

## Why does the homeowner summary sell the job?

Because it answers the homeowner's first question, "did my roof actually get hit?", on one page they can read in a minute. It opens with a sentence such as "Since 2021, hail was estimated at or within 1 mile of your home on 8 days," shows the largest hail with its everyday name, rates the chance of roof damage, maps the hail swath with the home marked, and lists the strongest storms with a rating each. It closes by explaining that hail damage is often hard to see from the ground and that insurance claims have time limits. The contractor's logo, phone and email sit in the header, so the page is the rep's calling card.

## How does each contractor get their own branding?

With brand profiles. Create one [brand profile](https://roofquery.com/docs/brand-profiles) per contractor, with their name, contact block, colours and logo, and add `?brand=` and the profile id to the PDF link. A platform serving hundreds of contractors orders the report once and every PDF goes out under the right name. The same profiles brand roof measurement reports; see [how white-label branding works](https://roofquery.com/guides/how-white-label-branding-works).

## How does the PDF get to the homeowner?

As a link. The storm report's `documents` list has one URL per PDF, and the PDF routes take no API key, so the CRM can put the link on the lead, in an email or in a text without proxying a file. Each download is rendered fresh, so a contractor who changes their logo changes it on every report already sent. The rep can also add notes, the homeowner's name and a claim number to a download, and they print on the PDF; the storm data itself never changes after the report is ordered.

## When should the CRM order the report?

When a lead is created or an address is confirmed. The report comes back in about two seconds in the response itself, so it can be ordered while the rep is still on the screen, with no webhook to wait for. Store the order id on the lead: the report and its PDFs can be opened again at any time without paying again. [Ordering a storm report by API](https://roofquery.com/guides/how-to-order-a-storm-report-by-api) has the request.

## How does the CRM decide which leads to work first?

With the damage chance on each report. High means 1.5-inch hail or 75 mph wind came within a mile of the home in the last five years; medium means 1-inch hail nearby or severe wind; low means neither. Sorting by it sends reps to the roofs most likely to need work, and the report's headline gives them the opening line. The report also carries the owner of record from county parcel data, where the county publishes it. The [hail size chart](https://roofquery.com/guides/hail-size-chart-and-roof-damage) explains the thresholds.

## What does it cost at CRM volume?

$3 per address from the same prepaid balance as roof reports, with all five PDFs included, no subscription and no minimum. Addresses where no storm was recorded within 5 miles are free. When a lead turns into a job, the roof measurement is a separate order; [adding roof reports to a roofing CRM](https://roofquery.com/guides/adding-roof-reports-to-a-roofing-crm) covers that side.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I see a sample storm report PDF?

Yes. Each of the five PDFs has a public sample, linked in the table above, rendered from a real address in Norman, Oklahoma and branded for a sample company.

### Can each contractor's logo go on the PDF?

Yes. Save a brand profile per contractor with their name, colours and logo, and add its id to the PDF link as ?brand=.

### Do the PDFs cost extra?

No. All five come with every $3 storm report and can be downloaded as often as needed.

### Can a CRM order storm reports in bulk?

Yes. Each address is one API call that returns in about two seconds; send them in parallel with an Idempotency-Key per address so a retry is never charged twice.
