EagleView is the incumbent in aerial roof measurement, with its own imagery fleet and a long history in insurance. RoofQuery is a measurement report API built for software companies that want to offer roof reports under their own brand. This page is written for a product team deciding what to build on, and every claim about EagleView below is linked to its source and dated.

How does the pricing model differ?
RoofQuery has one report type at one price. EagleView has a grid. Its Premium report, the one comparable to a RoofQuery report, is priced by the size of the roof in squares, small at 20, medium at 40, large above 40, and then by tier: Bronze is pay-as-you-go, Silver and Gold come with a prepaid monthly or yearly plan or an integration partner, and Platinum is quoted. On EagleView's published page a small residential roof is $32.75 on Bronze and $24.25 on Gold; a large one is $87 and $75.50; commercial is $89.50 and $79. EagleView also sells a lighter Bid Perfect report at $18 residential, and gutter, walls and full-house add-ons priced separately.
For a software company that matters in two ways. You cannot quote your users a price until you know the roof size, and your cost per report depends on a prepaid plan or partner arrangement. With RoofQuery a residential report is $13 whether the roof is 12 squares or 60, and there is one report type, so your price list can be one line and there is nothing to negotiate.
How much faster is RoofQuery?
On standard delivery, roughly ten times or more. RoofQuery residential reports are typically ready in about two hours, and commercial in about eight. EagleView's standard delivery is reported as same day to three business days, with a 3-hour rush service sold as a paid add-on. If your product promises a report the same afternoon, that is the default on RoofQuery and a surcharge on EagleView.
Can I white-label and resell?
This is the real difference, so to be precise: you can integrate with both. You can resell only one.
On RoofQuery, yes. The PDF carries your company name, logo, colours and contact block, set once for the account, or saved as a brand profile per customer so each of your customers sees their own brand and their own logo. You buy at $13 residential and $35 commercial and charge your users whatever your product charges. See how white-label branding works for the mechanics, including the one caveat: a small RoofQuery watermark stays in the PDF footer.
On EagleView, no. Integrating is fine; EagleView has a developer portal and a partner program for exactly that. But the report belongs to the roofer's EagleView account, not to yours. The terms state that reports are for "internal use only", that you may not "reproduce or redistribute the Copyrighted Materials outside of your company", and that ownership of the documents and data remains with EagleView. You cannot buy EagleView reports and sell them on, and you cannot put your brand on one.
Who owns the roofer?
With EagleView, EagleView does. An EagleView integration works through OAuth2: your roofer signs into their own EagleView account, grants your app access, and your app orders on their behalf. The roofer has an EagleView account, an EagleView bill, an EagleView price set by their own volume tier, and EagleView's report in their hands. Your product is a front end to that relationship, and the margin on every report is EagleView's.
With RoofQuery, you do. Your users never see a RoofQuery login, a RoofQuery invoice or a RoofQuery-branded document. Orders go through your account and your balance, the report carries your brand, and the relationship and the margin are yours.
When is EagleView still the right call?
When your users ask for it by name. Large carriers standardise on EagleView reports, and if your customers are required to submit them, a RoofQuery report will not substitute. EagleView also captures its own imagery and sells products beyond roof measurement. A platform whose customers require EagleView should give them EagleView, and nothing about a RoofQuery integration prevents offering both, routed by customer.
Try the difference before deciding. A RoofQuery sandbox key runs a complete order in about twenty seconds against recorded real roofs, at no cost. Testing in sandbox shows how, and how to resell roof measurement reports covers the pricing models.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an EagleView roof report cost?
EagleView's published Premium pricing runs from $24.25 for a small residential roof on the Gold tier to $87 for a large roof on Bronze, and $79 to $89.50 commercial. RoofQuery has one report type, equivalent to Premium, at $13 residential and $35 commercial, any size.
Is RoofQuery faster than EagleView?
On standard delivery, yes, by roughly ten times or more. RoofQuery residential reports are typically ready in about two hours. EagleView's standard delivery is reported as same day to three business days, with a paid 3-hour rush option.
Can I resell EagleView reports in my software?
No. You can integrate with EagleView through its developer portal, but your roofer buys the report from EagleView under their own account, and EagleView's terms license reports for internal use only. RoofQuery reports are bought by you at $13 residential and $35 commercial, white-labeled, and resold at your own price.
Do my users need an EagleView account to use an EagleView integration?
EagleView's developer documentation authenticates with OAuth2, including a flow where the user signs into their own EagleView account. With RoofQuery, only you have an account; your users never see RoofQuery.
